Food Safety in the Home

Research shows that improper handling, preparation, and storage of food at home can cause foodborne illness.  Consumers can reduce the risk of foodborne illness by following these easy steps of Clean, Separate, Cook and Chill.  Some of the materials below are available in multiple languages.

Programs such as FightBAC!® (http://www.fightbac.org/) and Be Food Safe (http://www.fsis.usda.gov/be_foodsafe/) also provide resources on these topics.

All food safety education materials are consistent with Massachusetts Department of Public Health,
Food Protection Program, FDA and USDA regulations and messages.
